1. Create Your Account

Sign up at app.middlewr.com. No credit card required — start with a free 7-day trial with full feature access.

2. Create a Workspace

After signing in, you’ll be prompted to create your first workspace. Workspaces hold your links, domains, rules, tags, and team members.
Choose a workspace name that reflects your team or project. You can create multiple workspaces later for different brands or campaigns.

3. Connect a Custom Domain (Optional)

Navigate to Settings > Domains and add your custom domain. This lets you create links like your-brand.co/summer instead of generic URLs.
1

Add your domain

Enter your custom domain (e.g., links.your-brand.com) in the domain settings.
2

Configure DNS

Add the CNAME record shown in the dashboard to your DNS provider.
3

Verify

Click Verify — SSL certificates are provisioned automatically.
Click Create Link and fill in the basics:
  • Destination URL — The default URL visitors are redirected to
  • Custom Slug (optional) — A memorable short code, or let Middlewr auto-generate one
  • Tags — Organize your link with color-coded tags
Then open the Routing tab to add automation:
1

Add a condition

Route visitors based on country, device, browser, or any supported attribute. For example, send mobile visitors to a mobile-optimized page.
2

Add an A/B split

Split traffic between two or more destinations with configurable percentages to test which page converts better.
3

Add transforms (optional)

Inject UTM parameters, override redirect status codes, or set custom response headers — all without changing your destination.
4

Validate and save

Middlewr validates your rules for conflicts, missing fallbacks, and weight mismatches before saving. The rule graph compiles to a decision tree and deploys to the edge instantly.

5. Share and Measure

Share your link anywhere — email, social media, ads, QR codes. Every click is processed by the rule engine at the edge, and analytics update in real-time:
  • Per-branch performance (which rule path each visitor took)
  • Geographic data (country and city level)
  • Device and browser breakdown
  • Referrer information
Visit your link’s analytics page to see how each routing branch performs.
