Add a Delay Before Redirecting
Countdown nodes pause the redirect and show a timer page to the visitor. Use them to build anticipation before a reveal, display a brief message, or add a mandatory wait before the destination loads.Configurable Duration
Set the countdown from 1 to 300 seconds (5 minutes). The visitor sees a timer counting down before the redirect triggers.
Custom Message
Display a message during the countdown — “Your download will start shortly”, “Redirecting to checkout”, or any text up to 500 characters.
Chainable
Place countdown nodes anywhere in your rule graph. Chain them after conditions to show different messages or durations per audience segment.
Skippable in Sequence
When multiple countdown nodes appear in the same evaluation path, subsequent countdowns are automatically skipped to avoid stacking delays.
How It Works
- The edge worker evaluates the rule tree until it reaches a countdown node
- Evaluation stops and a countdown page is returned with the configured duration and message
- When the timer completes, the visitor’s browser sends a follow-up request
- The edge worker resumes evaluation, skipping the countdown node and continuing to the next node
- If additional countdown nodes are in the path, they are automatically skipped
Setting Up a Countdown
1
Create or edit a link
Set the link type to Rules and open the flow editor.
2
Add a countdown node
Drag a countdown node onto the canvas and wire it into your rule graph.
3
Set the duration
Enter the countdown duration in seconds (1–300).
4
Add an optional message
Enter a message to display during the countdown. Up to 500 characters. Leave empty for a plain timer.
5
Connect the next node
Wire the countdown node’s output to the next node — a destination, transform, or another rule node.
